🏳️🌈 I co-signed a motion to strengthen the protection of LGBTQIA+ people in Forest.
👉🏼 Because even today, homophobic violence and hate speech are increasing, including in Brussels.
This fight should not be political. It should be self-evident.
🤝🏼 I am pleased that this motion was unanimously adopted by the Municipal Council.
Equality is never guaranteed. It must be defended every day.

🏗️ During construction works in Forest at Place Saint-Denis, a Second World War bunker was filled in without being preserved or enhanced.
👉🏼 Public safety is, of course, a priority. No one disputes that.
However, several questions arise:
❗ Why were citizens only informed after the fact?
❗ Why were no alternatives considered?
❗ What importance do we give to our heritage and our collective memory?
This bunker was part of Forest’s history. At a time when the memory of the Second World War is gradually fading, every trace matters.
💡 I have raised the issue with the municipal council to seek answers and to call for greater transparency, stronger citizen participation, and more consideration for our heritage.

At the City council meeting on 27 January 2026, the members of the Forest City Council paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Shoah.
On this International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, the City Council came together in a moment of reflection, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and passing on the memory of the Shoah to younger generations, so that “never again” remains a living pledge.
The transmission of this memory is an act of collective responsibility and an ongoing struggle against forgetting, hatred, and all forms of denial.
